AB Most  common  human  enzyme  deficiency  in  the  world.  Clinically  characterized  by  an  acute  red  cell  hemolysis  resulting  from  intake  of  oxidative  agents.  Glucose-6-phosphate  dehydrogenase  (G6PD)-deficient  individuals  are  more  resistant  to  Plasmodium  falciparum  (malaria-causing  parasite).
