The neurological manifestations included moderate to severe intellectual decline, muscular hypotonia, choreoathetoid posture and dystonic movements resulting in gait difficulty, dysarthria, dysphagia, and scoliosis. The onset of these symptoms in these patients began in early adolescence and progressed more rapidly in males.
