AB  - In  the  interval  of  time  since  the  first  edition  of  this  textbook  was  published,  bedside  ultrasonography,  particularly  for  critically  ill  patients,  has  revolutionized  the  practice  of  critical  care  medicine  and  created  a  new  standard  of  care  for  these  vulnerable  patients.
