Clinically, this medical condition is manifested with early Nephrotic Syndrome (edema, abdominal distention, and recurrent infections) that is usually present at birth but more between 1 and 2 years of age. It progresses to mesangial renal sclerosis, and ultimately end-stage renal failure—usually within the first 3 years of life.
