Incidence unknown. The syndrome
probably is unrecognized in many individuals. May affect up to 20% of the
Swedish population. Achoo syndrome is transmitted as an autosomal dominant
trait.

May be a complication of slitlamp examination.
Abnormal reflex sneezing secondary to bright light. May be associated with
nephropathic cystinosis thought to be caused by crystal deposition in the
cornea.
